Domain Name Expiry & Restoration Policy

All expired domain names follow a series of lifecycle stages: Available ==> Expired (reactivation fee: from €1.99) ==> Redemption Period (Restoration fee: up to €280) ==> Pending Deletion (Restoration no longer possible) ==> Available for registration

Please note:

  • Our system sends two reminders before the domain expires - one 60 days and another 30 days prior to the expiry date. An invoice is generated 19 days before the expiry date, and if a payment card is on file, an automatic payment can be processed 12 days before the due date to renew the domain.
  • The Redemption Period is typically 5-10 days after deletion. During this time, only the current registrar can redeem the domain.
  • If the domain is not redeemed within the Redemption Period, it enters a 5-day Pending Delete phase. During this stage, restoration is no longer possible, and the domain will become available for new registration once the period ends.
  • The cost and availability of domain restoration during these phases are set by the Main Registry and may vary depending on the domain extension.

Restoration Fees by Domain Extension

.IE Domains
  • Effective 1st of August 2025, a €75 restoration fee will apply to all .IE domain names recovered during the 30-day grace period after deletion.
  • Recommendation: Renew your .IE domain within 3 days of expiration to avoid this additional fee.
.COM Domains
  • Effective 1st of July 2025, a €280 restoration fee will apply to all .COM domains recovered during the 5-day grace period after deletion.
  • Recommendation: Renew your .COM domain within 3 days of expiration to avoid this charge.
Other TLDs (e.g., .ORG, .BIZ, .STORE, .ES, etc.)
  • Restoration fees vary depending on the domain extension.
  • Recommendation: If your domain has been expired for more than 5 days and you wish to restore it, please contact us directly for specific information and assistance.

Redeeming an expired domain is often costly, time-consuming, and generally a manual process. To avoid unnecessary fees and risks of losing your domain, we highly recommend renewing your domains before they expire.

Tip: Renew domains for 3-5 years if you don't want to renew them every year.
